Mrs. Decker graduated from Purdue University with a BA in Elementary Education. She then taught learning-disabled students for 2 years before embarking on a lengthy adventure with an international linguistics agency. She documented a previously unheard of language in a remote area of Pakistan, helped develop an alphabet for Belize Kriol, and contributed to the writing and translation of several publications in Belize. Throughout this time, she kept her foot in the education field by homeschooling her daughter. For the last 4 years she has been a teaching assistant in AISD’s Pre-K program; she renewed her teaching certification (including ESL supplement) and is excited to have embarked on a new adventure teaching Pre-K at NIAFW.
Nichole Infinger loves working with little children, and helping them succeed and grow. Her other interests include baking, especially cakes, being involved at her church in Flower Mound, eating at restaurants, traveling and hiking.
Ms. Watson graduated from Angelo State College in 1975 with a BS in Education with a Minor in English. Before teaching Ms. Watson was a full time Mom. Ms. Watson also taught two troops as a Brownie Leader and Girl Scout Leader. Ms. Watson’s past teaching experience has been 4th Grade full-time in the Monahans Independent School District, long-term substituting in Elementary Special Education, Junior High and part time at all grade levels in the Austin ISD, Lionheart Academy in Arlington, for 5 years as a full-day Pre-K teacher for 4s at First Presbyterian Pre-School in Arlington. She is passionate about children and their walks of life. Her goal is to inspire and motivate children to DREAM & BELIEVE in themselves.
Mrs. Jessica Rogers graduated as one of the top 50 seniors at Texas Tech University as a Mortar Board member with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She obtained her EC-4 and ESL Supplemental teaching certificates and is passionate about inspiring and creating leaders for the next generation. Mrs. Rogers has served as an educator for 11 years in the D-FW and Knoxville, Tennessee areas and is excited to be part of the NIAFW team.
Rachel Tidman holds a BS from the University of Texas at Arlington in Interdisciplinary Studies with her Teaching certification for Pre-K to 4th grade as well as a certification for Special Education for grades Pre-K to 12th grade. As she starts her first year teaching she is very excited to be able to be a part of such a wonderful and supportive school district and looks forward to passing that same support and encouragement on to each and every student.
1st Grade Teacher
Texas in Arlington . She has been teaching for 18 years—9 years in third grade and 9 years in first grade, mostly in Arlington I.S.D., and is passionate about getting First Graders off to an excellent start.
Mrs. Oxner earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Fashion Marketing at the University of North Texas. She returned to UNT and earned her EC-4th teaching certification. She has 11 years of teaching experience in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Spanish, and Texas History. As a native Texan with family in the Texas Republic, she indulges her love of history with genealogy, geocaching, historical marker hunting, and travel. She is a member of Historic Fort Worth, Inc. as well as the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
2nd Grade Teacher
Mrs. Riggs graduated from Evangel College in Springfield, MO with a BS in Elementary Education and a Music Education minor. She taught in Azle, TX ISD from 1993-1997 when she left to become a stay-at-home mom. She spent fourteen years homeschooling her five children including a special needs daughter. Mrs. Riggs is very excited to be back in the classroom and a part of the Newman family. She is passionate about helping all children to recognize their worth and become the best that they can be.
3rd Grade Teacher
Terry Hanz has a BA degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Hanz teaches Third Grade at NIAFW. She began her teaching distinguished teaching career in 1985 on the border near El Paso. She also taught 13 years in Albuquerque, and the two years prior to coming to NIAFW, she taught in Phoenix, AZ. She holds a lifetime Texas teaching certificate, a New Mexico teaching certificate with a TESOL endorsement, and a provisional Arizona certificate. All of her experience has been with diverse, second language learners in Title I public schools.
Joanna Morris earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. She worked for her church’s preschool department, as well as being a full-time freelance Graphic Designer. She is passionate about Art and truly believes in the benefits Art can provide to students as a part of a balanced education. She loves hunting, fishing, and cooking. She has one son who is absolutely her “sunshine.”
Jennifer Ratty has a BS Degree from Houston Baptist University with a dual major in Kinesiology and Psychology. She loves taking action in activities and sports. She is a firm believer in having a healthy lifestyle for overall success. She has experience in NCAA Division I Soccer, to Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), and Women’s North Texas State team. She is passionate about soccer and holds a U.S. Soccer D coaching license. She says that teaching is by far one of the greatest opportunities I have encountered!
Cherie Scott completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Dallas Baptist University. Her children talked her into becoming a substitute teacher and while substitute teaching, she found her niche and fell in love with teaching. She has been a long term substitute and Reading Interventionist for HEBISD and is very excited to be teaching Technology Applications at NIAFW.
Ms. Megan Schwendemann is an Elementary Music Teacher. Ms. Schwendemann graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University where she received her BA. She has extensive experience both in children’s ministry and giving private music lessons. Ms. Schwendemann enjoys listening to classical music and teaching children how to become excellent performers. This is her first year teaching with NIA and is excited about sharing her passion for music with her students.
Nurse Spencer has been an LVN for 29 years. She has done Medicare Home Health and Pediatric Home Health for over 20 years, and worked at Mexia State School for 5 years. She is very happy to be the school nurse for NIA Ft. Worth, taking care of our students’ needs. Mrs. Spencer has been married to Thomas Spencer for 25 years, and they have 5 children, and 8 grandchildren.
